I believe in capital punishment for cases that involve: raping of children, killing national leaders, murdering a group of people, terrorists who spread violence, etc. They do not deserve to live among people who want to live peacefully. If they are allowed to live then more and more crimes will happen and that will be a headache to the entire society.
We often read Crime, Capital Punishment, death penalty, homicide, etc. in news papers. Capital punishment means sentencing a person with death penalty as a punishment for the crime he did. It has been practiced in most of the countries across the world. In fact this kind of punishment is a lesson to other people so that they won't commit similar crimes. I am of the opinion that capital punishment should be continued. It is a fact that courts do not give capital punishment for every crimes. Capital punishment is depended upon the severity of the crime that a person has done. He might have killed the head of a nation or other important personalities. People belonging to terrorists groups should not be punished with only jail term of 5 or 10 years or more. As long as they live it is dangerous for the nation. There are many instances occurred across the world demanding the release of terrorists from jail by abducting important personalities or highjacking Aeroplanes. In such cases the responsible Government becomes helpless and have to obey the demands of such terrorist groups. Therefore capital punishment should be provided to such terrorists as early as possible once they are caught.
One another reason for why I support capital punishment is people often say beforehand with courage that they are going to do crimes. What they think is they will be pardoned by the Governor or President of a country against a mercy plea. Here, capital punishment becomes null and void. Therefore, it is up to the authorities to hasten the process of capital punishment once it is evident that he is guilty towards inhuman crimes.
Ultimately the common people will go to the extent of punishing such criminals in the public. It will make the laws of that country a powerless. Therefore the lawmakers should be very serious to ensure that the laws are powerful and criminals should change their mind by thinking of capital punishment.
Human rights organizations are demanding the withdrawal of capital punishment. In fact, they do not have to answer for the increasing crimes in the society that occur after withdrawing capital punishment. If people are not afraid of consequences, then how can we control crimes in the society? Authorities have laws only to control the crimes and maintain peaceful atmosphere. Even in jurisdictions with capital punishment, crimes are not diminishing. In that case what could be the situation if the capital punishment is withdrawn? I put forward these questions as my supporting logical arguments favouring capital punishment. If we look at the human history we would find out such punishment in the prehistory period itself. Kings often order beheading of people who did something wrong at that time. As human civilization has developed, in the present society capital punishment is given only for some serious crimes.
