Since 2009 the former Bolingbrook Police officer; Drew Peterson has been behind bars on homicide charges of his third wife, Stacy Peterson. Currently, the trial of Drew Peterson's is scheduled to be reheard by the Appellate court to determine if here-say evidence will be admitted. The hearsay evidence includes critical statements made by his former wife,Stacey Peterson to her pastor regarding the fact Drew allegedly confessed to the homicide of his former wife, Kathleen Savio.
In July 2010 the courts ruled that it was likely Drew Peterson killed both Kathleen Savio and his fourth wife, Stacey Peterson. Additionally, the court ruled that hearsay evidence of Kathleen Savio could be admitted to court, as well as two other hearsay evidence statements. The hearsay evidence of Kathleen Savio could weigh heavily on the outcome of the trial.
To date the evidence from Kathleen Savio's exhumed body indicates that her death was not in fact an accidental drowning, as initially declared. Hearsay evidence of Stacey Peterson to her pastor and former college friend seem to substantiate her murder.
Currently, Drew Peterson's son, from his first wife,and a former police officer in Oak Brooke lost his job. He lost his job as the result of his allegedly impeding a police search of Drew Peterson's home. This son, currently lives in Drew Peterson's home and is the sole caretaker of his siblings. Two of these siblings are the children of Stacy Peterson, Drew's missing wife. To date, although Police have stated it is believed Drew killed Stacy, they have as of yet not charged him with the murder of Stacy Peterson; his missing wife. He is currently only charged with the death of Kathleen Savio.
Currently, Drew Peterson remains in custody pending the outcome of an appeal by State attorney James Glasgo to have the court admit additional hearsay evidence. He is currently held on a 20 million dollar bond in the Willis Adult detention Facility for murder.
Drew Peterson's fourth wife has been missing for 3 1/2 years with no clues or evidence admitted at this point. Drew Peterson has been in jail for 2 years waiting a decision by the courts regarding his trial.
A movie titled " Drew Peterson- Untouchable" was released. It was reported that Drew Peterson watched the movie and found it humorous. To date he has made jokes regarding his current jail life and about the errors in the movie outlining the events of Kathleen Savios death.
The families of both Kathleen Savio and Stacy Peterson wait for the courts decision regarding the additional hearsay evidence in the case. They wait for justice for the daughter, and sister they remember. Justice for the mother of innocent children, now without their mother. Justice for two women that ironically and ominously both sensed they were in danger and that their demise would be seen as an accident. There is hope that the words spoken by both women regarding their demise will be heard and recognized as evidence from their graves to those who will hear it. Evidence that will once and for all hold accountable the man who cut their lives all too short, without remorse.
